WHL:

Victoria Royals  5  PG Cougars  4  (SO-Saturday)

The Cougars scored twice in the final four minutes of the 3rd period to overcome a 4-2 deficit and earn a point before 3,620 fans at CN Centre.

Captain Riley Heidt had two goals to give him 300 points for his career, a PG Cougars team record.

The NFL Monday Night game has (2-5) New York Giants at (5-2) Pittsburgh.

CFL:

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers officially clinched top spot in the CFL West after a 28-27 Saturday victory over Montreal as the (11-7) Blue Bombers won the game on a last play field goal.

Winnipeg will host the West Final on Saturday, November 9th against the winner of the B.C. Lions-Saskatchewan Roughriders game that will be played Saturday at 3:30 PM in Regina.

The (9-9) Lions finished 3rd, a point behind the (9-8-1) Roughriders.

In the East, (9-8-1) Ottawa is at (10-8) Toronto Saturday at noon with the winner to visit (12-5-1) Montreal in the East Final on November 9th.

The 111th Grey Cup will be played on Sunday, November 17th in Vancouver.

The World Series has shifted to Yankee Stadium for Game 3 tonight (Monday 5:08).

The LA Dodgers lead the New York Yankees 2-0 after winning the first two games; 6-3 in 10 innings on Friday and 4-2 on Saturday.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves begin their Canada West men’s and women’s basketball season on Friday when they visit the UBC Okanagan Heat in Kelowna (5 and 7 PM).

The UNBC home openers will go on Sunday (November 3rd) against Thompson Rivers University of Kamloops starting with the women at 2:00 followed by the men at 4:00.
