It’s pretty safe to say Carolina Hiller is the queen of the 500m.
At the Canadian Long Track Championships in Québec City, the Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club alum and two-time world champion secured the three-peat yesterday (Thursday) in the 500m event recording a time of 38.63 seconds.
“Being a national champion in the 500m for the third year in-a-row is pretty exciting and I’m proud of myself. Overall, I am really proud of how I skated today. There were a few parts that were a little sloppy, so I’m looking forward to cleaning that up tomorrow in the 1000m,” Hiller told Speed Skating Canada.
In addition, Eric Orlowsky skated in the 5000m yesterday (Thursday), but unfortunately did not finish his race.
Both Hiller and Orlowsky are scheduled to skate today (Friday).
Hiller will compete in the 1000m, taking place at 11 am Pacific while Orlowsky will suit up in the 10,000m, scheduled to start at 4pm.
