City of PG unveils Citizen Budget survey

Prince George residents will once again have their say on next year’s budget consultation process.

Today (Monday), the City launched its Citizen Budget survey, which will be open until November 8th.

As in previous years, the Citizen Budget simulator allows participants to explore City budget allocations for various municipal services.

Ratepayers can enter their property tax assessment into the platform to see how their tax dollars are distributed across civic operations, such as roads, transportation, and other services.

Participants can adjust funding allocations to understand how changes to service levels affect their tax bill.

In addition, residents are also encouraged to share their level of satisfaction with various services by participating in brief, online check-up surveys.

The surveys cover the following areas, each with fewer than 10 questions:

  • Events and Recreation
  • Parks and Trails
  • Protective Services
  • Roads and Sidewalks
  • Snow Removal

In-person consultation on the budget will take place at the Budget Open House on October 30th at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre.

  • Information Sharing and Open House: 3:30 p.m.
  • Presentations by City Staff on the budget process, City services, infrastructure, and an opportunity to ask questions to the senior leadership team: 5:30 p.m.

All community input from the surveys and the open house will be presented to City Council ahead of their budget deliberations, which begins in December.
