Hundreds gather for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Hundreds of people gathered in Lhiedli T’enneh Memorial Park this afternoon (Monday), recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The annual day honours the survivors of residential schools, and the children who never returned home.

After survivors made their way to the bandshell at the park, five minutes of silence and reflection were held at 2:15.

Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan said there is no guide for reconciliation, and it’s something we have to work together on.

In addition to the event at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park, a walk and talk was put on by the UHNBC Drum Group outside of the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre this morning.
