An all candidates forum is being planned with farming in mind.
Former local cattle buyer Brock McElroy is inviting Cariboo – Prince George candidates to the Hixon Hall on October 14th.
“Nothing is ever mentioned about agriculture. Then people tell me about the economy and say ‘look we need to have a good economy’.” McElroy said “I say ‘yes, to have a good economy you better have some agriculture to feed everybody that’s working’.”
“So I thought, rather than complain about it, let’s put together an all candidates meeting. The theme is going to be agriculture and rural living.” McElroy continued
He says that people from all walks of life will be welcome and candidates will field questions on any topic, but he would like to give rural residents a chance to ask about issues important to them.
5 candidates have confirmed attendance so far. The forum runs Oct 14th, 7pm at the Hixon Hall in Hixon.
