A big boost for the Prince George Cougars as their all-time points (280) and assists (195) leader is coming back from the NHL.
The Minnesota Wild have returned 19-year-old Riley Heidt to the Cougars after attending the Wild training camp and suiting up in three NHL pre-season games.

The (2-1-1) Cougars visit the (0-3) Kelowna Rockets Wednesday, the (1-2-1) Seattle Thunderbirds Friday and the (2-1) Portland Winterhawks on Saturday to conclude a 5-game road trip.
The next home games for the Cougars will be against Portland on Oct 8th and 9th.

MLB:
Pete Rose, the all-time hits leader in MLB, who was banned from baseball for betting on the sport, has died at age 83.
According to reports, Rose was found by a family member.
The coroner will investigate to determine the cause of death but there are no signs of foul play.

Both the Braves and Mets earned a wild-card spot with a record of 89-73.
The Arizona Diamondbacks missed the playoffs despite also finishing 89-73.
The Mets visit Milwaukee today (2:30 PM) and the Braves are at San Diego tonight (5:30) to begin those best-of-three series.
The best-of-three American League wild-card series begin today (Tuesday) with Detroit at Houston (11:30 AM) and Kansas City at Baltimore (1:00 PM).
The Toronto Blue Jays finished last in the A.L. East with a record of 74-88.
The Seattle Mariners finished second in the A.L. West and out of the playoffs with a record of 85-77.

With three games left in their regular season, the (7-8) B.C. Lions are 3rd in the West Division, a point behind the (7-7-1) Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The Lions host the (4-9-1) Calgary Stampeders Friday night at 7:00.
Week 18 in the CFL begins Friday at 4 PM with (9-6) Winnipeg at (6-9) Hamilton.
The West-leading Blue Bombers have won seven straight while the Tiger-Cats are riding a 4-game winning streak.
The Lions final two games are at Saskatchewan on Oct 12th (4 PM) and home against East-leading Montreal on Oct 19th (4 PM).
