BCFC: 

Okanagan Sun  70  Prince George Kodiaks  0  (Saturday in Kelowna)

The (5-0) Sun led 37-0 at the half and 51-0 after three quarters.

The (1-4) Kodiaks will try to snap a 4-game losing streak when they host the (0-4) Kamloops Broncos Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium.

Prince George has allowed an average of 48 points per game while scoring an average of 20 through their first five games which is the midway mark of their schedule.

CFL: (Final game in Week 11)

Winnipeg Blue Bombers  20  B.C. Lions  11

QB Nathan Rourke struggled in his first game back with the Lions in nearly two years.

He completed just eight of 25 passes for 126 yards plus he tossed two interceptions and was sacked twice in front of 30,803 fans at BC Place Stadium.

“I want to publicly apologize,” Rourke said in a clear and steady voice to reporters. “That was not my best football right there. I didn’t make enough plays.”

The (5-5) Lions have lost four straight and will play their next game Saturday (4 PM) in Ottawa against the (6-2-1) Redblacks.

Little League World Series:

Canada’s run at the Little League World Series came to an end.

The Whalley Little League team from Surrey was knocked out of the tournament following an 8-0 loss to Mexico.

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  1  Chicago Cubs  0

The (58-66) Blue Jays begin a 7-game homestand tonight (Monday 4:07) against the (60-64) Cincinnati Reds.

Seattle Mariners  10  Pittsburgh Pirates  3

The (64-61) Mariners snapped a 5-game losing streak and will continue on a 9-game road trip tonight at 7:10 against the (73-52) LA Dodgers.

Seattle is in second place in the A.L. West, 4 games behind the (67-56) Houston Astros.

UNBC Timberwolves:

The UNBC Timberwolves begin their Canada West men’s soccer season this week.

UNBC visits the Fraser Valley Cascades Friday night at 6:00 and Sunday afternoon at 1:00.

The Timberwolves home openers will be August 30th and 31st against the Victoria Vikes at 6 PM each day.
