The Moose Valley wildfire, remains out of control as crews continue their efforts.
The fire, which is 11 kilometres southwest of 108 Mile and 13 kilometres northwest of 100 Mile House, is currently listed as 240 hectares.
Fire information Officer, Jeromy Corrigan says ground crews are working where the fire burned up to the guard.
“They have done a contingency line on the west side of the fire; they are pushing in tighter with the guard where retardant was laid.”
“The east side of the wildfire is holding well from the previous small scale ignitions and wet line, which crews did conduct.”
Corrigan says as of this morning, the fire is displaying mostly rank 1 fire behaviour, with pockets of rank 2.
Crews and resources on scene include firefighting personnel, airtankers, water-skimmers, and helicopters, as well as heavy equipment.
Over the last couple days, weather conditions have helped crews, as temperatures have been lower along with some rain.
He says the forecast coming up is also shaping up well, as there appears to be some precipitation scattered throughout the Cariboo moving to the weekend.
The Moose Valley wildfire remains visible for 100 Mile House and surrounding areas.
Corrigan noted that motorists on Highway 97 shouldn’t be surprised if there’s smoke in the air, and may make visibility a little challenging.
