It was home opener to forget for the Prince George Spruce Kings who fell 5-1 to the Wenatchee Wild tonight (Fri).
Brendan Harris opened the scoring for the Wild 6:23 into the first period.
Corey Hoffman would then tie it up for the Spruce Kings to end the opening stanza.
Wenatchee scored twice in the second period to make it 3-1.
Things got much worse for the Spruce Kings in the third period as a parade to the penalty box led to two more goals.
Brandon Puricelli and Dakota Raabe salted it away for Wenatchee to take the game 5-1.
The Spruce Kings were outshot 22-3 in the third period and 50-18 overall.
Jake LeBrun was kicked out of the game in the final frame after receiving a checking from behind major penalty.
The Wild were 1 for 7 on the man advantage while the Spruce Kings went 0 for 4.
17 year old rookie goalie Liam McCloskey made 45 saves in his first BCHL start for PG.
Both teams play game 2 tomorrow night at 7pm from the Coliseum.
