The Cougars’ Super Rookie was taken 17th overall by the Washington Capitals.

The Washington Capitals have treated the Cougars as a development program this year, signing overagers Zac Funk and Hudson Thornton earlier in the year.
Parascak was one of five WHL players taken in the first round of the draft, including Chetwynd’s Cayden Lindstrom who went 4th overall to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Rounds 2-7 of the draft will be held today starting at 8:30, more Cougars could hear their names called.
Ondrej Becher and Hunter Laing are both rated on NHL Central Scouting’s top North American skaters list.
