ICBC poll shows most avoided driving maneuvers

If you hate parallel parking, chances are the people you have parked between are also not big fans.

A new ICBC poll shows the average driver’s level of confidence is at its lowest while parallel parking – 56 percent of those behind the wheel said that was the most difficult maneuver to learn and is still the toughest to execute.

41 percent avoid parallel parking entirely if at all possible.

Backing into a parking space is the second most disliked driving maneuver, with 20 percent avoiding it if possible.

Overall, 68 percent of drivers rated their skills as excellent, but 33 percent said others on the road have poor driving skills.

The top three things drivers felt others need to improve on are: leaving enough following distance (58%), giving drivers space to merge (47%), and completely stopping at a stop sign (36%).

ICBC also provided a list of tips that drivers can keep in mind to improve on these common complaints. You can find those here.
