Canada Day in the Park back for another year, no fireworks due to burning restrictions

Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park will be the place to be on Canada as the City of Prince George is hosting another Canada Day in the park.

“Canada Day in the park is a long-standing tradition in Prince George that celebrates the rich multiculturalism in our community,” said Community Coordinator Doug Hofstede.

“We’re excited to offer exciting entertainment, delicious food options from around the world, and fun activities for the whole family.”

Opening ceremonies will start at the bandshell at noon, with an opening from Lhedili T’enneh Elder Edie Frederick, and a cake-cutting at 12:30.

However, there will be no fireworks this year due to current BC Wildfire burning restrictions, despite recent rainfall.

In addition, there will be a large lineup of entertainment and food vendors.

A schedule of entertainment and a list of food vendors can be found here.
