New Southridge dog park now open

College Heights has a new off-leash dog park.

It is located on Southridge Avenue adjacent to the hockey/basketball court near Southridge Elementary School.

According to the city, the park “features engineered wood fiber chips specifically made for dog park surfaces that knit together to avoid splinters and sharp edges.”

The following are the city’s pet park regulations:

  • Dogs must remain under the owner’s control and supervision.
  • With the exception of designated off-leash park areas, all pets must be on a leash when in public.
  • Owners must carry a leash with them at all times.
  • Please use the pet waste stations.
  • Please observe pet etiquette rules and all other rules and regulations when visiting a park with pets.

You can find a full list of Prince George’s six off-leash areas here.
