ICBC and RCMP holding interactive vehicle theft event

The Prince George RCMP and ICBC will be holding an interactive display in the Pine Centre Mall parking lot on Wednesday (June 19) to test people on what items may be potential targets of theft.

“This initiative is aimed at getting drivers to take a closer look at what is being left behind in their vehicle when they park it,” said Corporal Jen Cooper. “Many of the items we leave out for our convenience become potential targets for thieves and increase the likelihood our vehicles will be broken into for these items,”

The Spot the Target display will run from 10:00 – 2:00 on Wednesday.

Anyone who visits will have a chance to peer inside a parked car and see how many targets they can identify that may increase the risk of a break-in.

Participants will then have the option to enter themselves into a raffle and win a prize.
