Cottonwood Island Park trail re-opens

The Heritage River Trail in Cottonwood Island Park (between the Replica Bridge and the Cameron Street Bridge) has re-opened to the public.

It closed on May 18th, over the last month crews removed the old asphalt trail and replaced it with gravel.

According to the city, the gravel path creates a smoother surface than the old asphalt and will increase accessibility.

The project was budgeted at $150,000.
