Month-long Colour Walk a “pretty inspiring month” says Hospice Executive Director

May has come to a close, and so has the Colour Walk.

“We were thrilled with the amount of people that went and got a team together or walked individually,” said Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society Executive Director Donna Flood.

“What was really exciting was the fact that they shared their walks and what they saw with everybody on social media, so it was a pretty inspiring month.”

Flood said one of the stories that stuck out to her came from someone who was walking for his wife.

“His wife was one of our first Home Hospice clients, and because of that, and because of the support she got, and how well he felt he was cared for, he wanted to get out and do the Colour Walk in support of the care she was given,” Flood said.

“It was really nice to hear about the difference that journey made for them.”

The funds raised from the Colour Walk go towards Hospice’s Home Hospice Program.

Flood said she doesn’t have the official total yet, but she believes it’s over $50,000.
