Cariboo – Prince George NDP candidate Trent Derrick is sounding off on regional issues just a day after being nominated.
He says the NDP will work towards retaining jobs and building a strong middle class, citing one particular item within the region:
“Definitely I think resource management has been in there, and I think Tom Mulcair and his focus on building manufacturing in Canada is going to really resonate, because it will bring back high paying jobs and to help keep jobs in Canada.”
Derrick says the NDP also plans to lower small business taxes from 11 to 9%, to promote job creation and expansion in a region so dependent on small businesses.
