“Sunday’s community spring cleanup was a tremendous success!”
That is what Doug Hofstede, a Community Coordinator with the City of Prince George, had to say when looking out over a clean city this week after thousands took to the streets and parks to clean over the weekend.
The official community cleanup was held on Sunday (April 21), Hofstede said “Thousands of volunteers spread out across the community to help clean up, and we are very appreciative.”
Over 4,000 registered to take part in the clean, and many others just grabbed garbage bags from their homes and started to clean independently.
“We are very fortunate to have so many people that care,” Hofstede said, adding prevention is the best way to keep the city clean and asked residents to avoid littering.
