Aiden Conn of Prince George is well on his way to his dream of becoming a professional race car driver.
Conn, now 13, started racing go karts at eight-years-old, and moved onto full-sized cars last year.
“My dad has been into it, and my grandpa, and now I’m the third generation,” Conn said.
The cars he’s currently racing are a two-thirds scale replica of a 34 Ford Coupe.
“One has a 1250 Yamaha streetbike engine in it, and two have the Z09 Yamaha streetbike engines in them,” he said.
“It can go about 120 miles an hour.”
In his first season in full-sized cars, he’s won races against veterans and champions of the sport, and he’s planning to go bigger and better for 2024.
Conn will be competing at PGARA five times this season, and also in Quesnel, Williams Lake, Penticton, and Hythe, and down in the states in Washington and in Las Vegas.
Conn has TX2 Recycling, Jepson Petroleum, Williams Signs, Tharrow Crane, and everyone in his $100 club as sponsors, but he’s still looking for more for the season.
