The Cougars extended their club-record point streak to 17 games.

Prince George won its club-record 47th game of the season.

WHL scoring leader Zac Funk notched two more goals to give him 67 in 66 games.

WHL rookie scoring leader Terik Parascak tallied two goals and added two assists.

The (47-15-1-3) Cougars are in first place in the Western Conference, two points ahead of the (46-15-3-1) Portland Winterhawks.

The Winterhawks lost 5-4 Sunday night to Seattle as Nico Myatovic of Prince George assisted on the game-winning goal at 3:59 of overtime.

P.G. has two games left; at Kamloops on Friday and home against Kamloops on Saturday.

Portland has three games remaining; at Tri-City on Friday, home to Seattle on Saturday and at Seattle on Sunday.

Kai Greaves scored at 1:40 of overtime as the Spruce Kings ended a 5-game losing streak before 1,531 fans at the Kopar Memorial Arena.

The Spruce Kings have four regular season games remaining.

They host the Vernon Vipers Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00 before they play at Vernon on Friday, March 29th and at Merritt on Saturday, March 30th.

The (15-32-3) Spruce Kings, who have lost 11 of their last 13, will finish last in the 8-team Interior Division and will meet the first-place Penticton Vees in the opening round of the playoffs.

Para Biathlon:

Canada finished third in medals (with 10) behind Ukraine and Germany at the Para Nordic World Cup Finals at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club in Prince George.

Natalie Wilkie of Salmon Arm captured a silver and two bronze.

Wilkie also picked up a gold and a silver in the Para Biathlon World Championships that was held in P.G. the week prior.

Mark Arendz of Hartsville, PEI, earned a gold and a bronze.

Arendz leaves P.G. with six medals, including four gold, following a four-medal showing (three of which were gold) at the Para Biathlon World Championships.

Derek Zaplotinsky of Smoky Lake, Alberta captured a gold and a bronze.

Collin Cameron of Bracebridge, Ontario, earned a gold and a silver.

Christina Picton of Fonthill, Ontario won a bronze.

Canada’s Rachel Homan has won her first four games at the World Women’s Curling Championship in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The Chicago Bears have traded QB Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a conditional 6th-round pick that can convert into a fourth-round pick based on playing time.

Fields is expected to back up Russell Wilson with the Steelers.
