Ahead of Saturday’s BCHL’s Trade Deadline, the Prince George Spruce Kings got together with a conference rival and swapped defenceman.
PG dealt 19-year-old Swedish blueliner Max Ranstrom to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in exchange for 17-year-old defenseman Aidan Souligny and Future Considerations.
Souligny, who is committed to playing NCAA Division 1 hockey at Boston University, has suited up in 25 games with the Silverbacks this season.
In that time, he has recorded two assists.
“We’re excited to add a good young player like Aidan to our program,” said General Manager Mike Hawes.
“He’s a player who thinks the game well and has good size and strength. He is a great addition to
our back end.”
