2023 a down year for building permits in Prince George

The City of Prince George wrapped up an abysmal 2023 with a decent month when it comes to building permits.

According to a report that will go before Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting, the city issued 21 building permits worth a combined total of $5.7 million in December.

New single-family dwellings drove development to end 2023, as 11 permits were issued worth a combined $4.8 million.

2023 was a down year for development in Prince George, following a record 2022.

In total, 395 building permits were issued last year, worth a combined total of $155.6 million.
