Being $500,000 richer hasn’t sunk in yet for Rudy Paquette of Moberly Lake.
Paquette matched all four extra numbers during the December 15th Lotto Max draw, netting him half a million dollars.
“It really hasn’t hit home,” he said.
“It’s still just surreal.”
Paquette was working in Richmond when he bought his ticket, and he discovered the big win at the same retailer.
“I thought it was someone else who won at first and the retailer who scanned my ticket had to tell me it was me who won.”
Paquette said he has a few plans for the win, including a trip to Las Vegas for a golf tournament, and renovating his home.
According to the BC Lottery Corporation, BC Lottery players redeemed more than $38 million in winnings from the Extra, in addition to more than $212 million from Lotto Max.
