A group of students, faculty and a local dentist have returned from a dental hygiene excursion in the Philippines.
Team Lead Heather Mohr says they were facing one item in particular:
“94% of the school children in the Philippines have tooth decay and we are not talking one or two teeth we are talking many many teeth in their mouths, it was one of the diseases that we found while we were there”
Mohr says they performed restorations, and extractions on many school children and community members who were desperately in need.
She also says they provided dental hygiene education, looking to reduce the amount of tooth decay.
