PG paramedics respond to a combined 320 drug overdose calls in October, November

BC’s drug toxicity crisis continues to have an impact on our paramedics in Prince George.

According to BC Emergency Health Services, local medics responded to 144 calls for overdose or drug poisoning events in October and 176 such calls last month (November).

In October, Prince George was fifth highest on the list of BC municipalities in terms of volume and ranked sixth in November.

Since the public health emergency for toxic drugs was declared in 2016, BC Emergency Health Services has seen 75% spike in annual overdose/drug poisoning events.
