Lack of rural post office service concerns RDFFG

The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has raised some concerns over a Canada Post decision.

Reductions in postal service to many rural communities means that the board is scrambling to write a letter to the agency, hoping that Canada Post will hold community meetings to provide consultation with those impacted.

Here’s District Director Art Kaehn:

“In our rural communities many don’t have the privilege of great cellular or high speed internet service so this is the way they stay connected”

Kaehn says businesses in rural communities also suffer, as local populations often leave town to conduct business where a post office is available.
