A Prince George RCMP service dog recently discovered a missing child.
In the late morning of July 21st, PG RCMP were called out after it was reported that a 2 year old child had gone missing from an unfenced yard.
Officers attended the residence off North Nechako road, and service dog “Dero” was deployed in the search.
It didn’t take long for the German Shepherd to find the toddler, as just minutes later he located the 2 year old – happily playing just 80 metres into a wooded area behind the residence.
PG RCMP are taking the opportunity to remind the public to pay close attention to young children, as it can only take a minute or less for them to wander off.
