Search and Rescue dispatched west of PG

Prince George Search and Rescue were called to the Bednesti Lake area this morning after a man didn’t return home when expected.

36-year-old Christopher Iean Banks was last seen around 11pm Saturday night.

He was reportedly driving to a celebration at the Woodcock Lake Recreation Area, but never arrived.

Banks is described as a 5’11, 145 pound Caucasian man with blue eyes, and short brown hair.

The search crew includes 14 members from Prince George Search and Rescue, 4 from Nechako valley, and 1 from Quesnel.

Over 2200 kilometres of back roads have been searched.

RCMP has requested assistance from Emergency Management BC.

The Prince George Search & Rescue Society, Nechako Valley Search & Rescue Society, Quesnel Search & Rescue Society and a search airplane were used to conduct ground and air searches throughout the day today.

Police say this is out of character for Banks, but foul play is not suspected at this time.

If you have seen a vehicle, or a man matching Bank’s description near Bednesti, Cluculx, or Bobtail Lakes since 11pm Saturday, please contact the RCMP.
