The Prince George and Area Railway and Forestry Museum is feeling grateful after getting a gift from a conservative candidate.
The museum was left short-handed after a strange incident last Remembrance Day.
“It was chaotic,” says museum Executive Director Ranjit Gill, “We folded up all the flags and thought we had them all, then when we went to put them up for the legion event at the end of May there were 12 missing.”
Conservative party candidate Todd Doherty donated 12 flags to the group earlier today.
According to Gill, 160 is a very significant number.
“There are 158 fallen soldiers in the war in Afghanistan, as well as one of the fallen soldiers here in Prince George, Greg Matters, as well as a journalist from the Calgary Herald.”
The flags will fly again at the BCNE from August 12-16.
