Summerfest to wrap up Centennial Celebration

Summerfest’s street party is ready to kick off for Sunday morning.

This year’s Taste Pavilion will feature 19 different groups, while the Kid’s Zone will have a fish pond, mini-rail, and a petting zoo.

The main stage is running from 11-5, with several performers running evening concerts between 8 and 10 pm, with fireworks to follow.

“This essentially serves as the wrap-up party for a whole week of 100th Anniversary Celebrations,” says executive director Carla Johnston.

This year, people will receive a piece of paper to write down a favourite memory about Prince George.

The papers will be hung on a memory tree at city hall, and later transferred into a book.

The events take place around Veteran’s Plaza at City Hall.
