The BC Government and Pacific Northwest L-N-G officially signed their first project agreement to build a new facility on Lelu Island near Prince Rupert.
Minister of Finance Mike De Jong, says there will be no shortage of jobs during peak construction.
“I am told at peak construction this project will employ 4,500 people that represents opportunities for British Columbian’s and their families very real opportunities.”
The province signed off on the agreement back on May 20th, but a special summer sitting of the legislature was held earlier this week to discuss the matter.
After construction the on-going employment will be around 500 to 1000 people.
