PG led all of BC with 32 black bear deaths in 2022

Prince George is the deadliest community for black bears in BC.

That’s according to a report from the Fur-Bearers which it noted 32 black bears were killed in the northern capital last year.

Despite this, the volume of tragic outcomes for our furry friends has been on the decline over the past three years after tallying 45 in 2020.

Province-wide, 500 black bears died at the hands of Conservation Officers, a decline of 14% when compared to 2021.
