The Prince George Hospice Society now has an extra $1000.
The Northbreast Passage Dragon Boat Team made the donation Tuesday at the hospice house.
Executive Director Donna Flood says the money will go towards the general operations of the organization and they help out an average of 250 people.
“They stay about ten days, but some stay up to six months,” says Flood, “but some will come and go, through respite care, we do symptom management, so people can come from their homes, get some control over their symptoms and come back home.”
Dragon Boat Team President Anita Eyles says they wanted to keep their money local.
“And when we do fundraise, we do get from local people, so its best to keep it in town and everybody gets the benefit of it,” says Flood.
Eyles says they raised this money through bake sales at the hospital.
