Miracle Theatre production held over, adding five more shows

Miracle Theatre has extended its 2023 production, Dancing Lessons, by four days, adding five shows to its run.

Previously ending on April 19th, Dancing lessons will now run until Sunday, April 23rd.

Shows will take place at 7:30 on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd, with 2:00 matinees on the 22nd and 23rd at the Knox Performance Centre.

Tickets are still only for sale through Books and Company.

Prior to the show’s opening, the production had already raised $56,000 for Ukrainian refugees in Prince George, as well as for establishing an endowment fund for future refugees who come to Prince George.

Ted Price, Miracle Theatre’s Director and Designer, told My PG Now they do not have an updated total for funds raised since doors opened.

However, Price said from donations at the door alone, another $6,388 had been accumulated in the first six performances.

That does not include money from ticket sales and concession.

Miracle Theatre’s synopsis of Dancing Lessons is: “the hit comedy tells the story of two lonely people. A banquet and dance is being held to honour a man who has never danced a step in his life. He insists on lessons from a neighbouring professional dancer, even when he discovers her career may be over because of a recent car accident. The lessons do not go well. But a unique friendship begins, turning into an experience that changes their lives.”
