Country singer Sean Hogan is in Vanderhoof to play a benefit concert for Leukemia patient Wendy Wallace.
“There are treatments, and there are success stories,” says Hogan, “Wendy deserves everyone’s support and love, and that is what community is about right? Being there for people.”
Hogan has previously battled cancer himself, and has been free of cancer for three years.
“Quite often you can’t work, and your family is taking time off,” explains Hogan, “Next thing you know you’re running up huge bills and debts…It’s hard to stay with your head above the water.”
Wendy is aiming to get new medication to slow the cancer down, and to travel to Montreal.
The concert will take place at the Grand Reo Theatre at 8PM on Tuesday night.
Tickets are $25 or by donation, and are sold at the Grand Reo Theatre, Wallace Studio, and will be available at the door.
Additional donations are accepted via the concert website: http://www.grandreotheatre.com/index.html
