The “Take a Shot at Cancer Fundraiser” fundraiser in Vanderhoof is right around the corner.
The Nechako Valley Sporting Club is hosting the 3rd annual clay shooting event this Sunday at the Redmond Pit.
“It’s a great fundraiser for the St John Hospital here and it’s oncology ward. It’s about having fun.” Organizer Wayne Salewski said “It about learning the sport; we will have people that will shoot 15-20% and people that shoot 80-90%”
There will be four divisions available for entry; men’s beginner, men’s pro, junior and women.
He added that they were able to donate more than $12,000 after last years fundraiser.
“Registration is between 9-10am, followed by a shotgun start at the multiple stations out there. We will have a BBQ, hamburgers, pops and juices.”
Prizes will be raffled off, including a new rifle.
Entry fees are $80 for adults & $40 for juniors for 110 birds.
