I Did a Lap for Cancer 2015 was a big success.
Organizer Heather Ferris says they raised $30,293.
“We estimated approximately 500 school children that came around lunch time. We had 16 teams registered and some of those teams had up to 10-11 people on them.”
“Despite the rain, it was a pretty good event.” Ferris said “We had really rotten weather that day and it rained for most of the event. But we were impressed with the people that came out and worked 12 hours there.”
All the money raised goes to the Canadian Cancer Society for Cancer Research.
Ferris added that they are already planning for a bigger and better next year, and are always looking for volunteers.
“We have a Facebook page; ‘I Did a Lap for Cancer’ and people can get in contact with us on that page, we have people checking that page and we will get you lined up with a job for next year.”
