Northern Health responds to CMHF study

As a follow up to an earlier story about mens health in British Columbia, Northern Health had some interesting facts about how the North compares.

Holly Christian is the Regional Lead of mens health, and says when it comes to lifestyle choices like drinking, smoking, physical activity, and excess weight, we enjoy one item in particular:

“Particularly in the North we do have increased rates of alcohol consumption. Particularly we see that deaths attributed to alcohol and other substance abuse like tobacco and illegal substances are higher in the male population in the North, than in other places in BC”

This seems to be in line with the trends in the rest of the Province, as British Columbians appear to enjoy their liquor more than most of the country, as a recent Canadian Mens Health Foundation study revealed.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
