We have heard tons of clichés and we are well aware that 2-time MVP Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is the best quarterback in the NFL.
We have also been told numerous times that the Philadelphia Eagles is the best-rounded team with arguably the top offensive line in football.
But enough is enough!
Can we just get on with THE GAME?
After two weeks of hoopla, Super Bowl 57 kicks off on Sunday (3:30 p.m. PST) from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
On this day, millions of North Americans will be partying, eating food, sitting in front of large-screen TVs, and of course, enjoying the most anticipated football game of the year.
Whether one lives in Prince George, B.C., Victoria, B.C., Victoria, Ontario, Victoria, Texas, or any other city, this four-hour spectacle (including the lengthy halftime show) has evolved into a North American tradition.
Indeed, this is a time when fans and non-fans alike will tune in and try to experience the excitement of the biggest extravaganza in North American sports.
When the NFL championship game for the Vince Lombardi Trophy is taking place, the other leagues sit back and enjoy it as well.
There will be no action in the NBA, NHL, WHL, or BCHL to name a few.
(The NBA and NHL games on Sunday are scheduled to be completed before kickoff)
According to NBC, last year’s Super Bowl between the LA Rams and Cincinnati Bengals drew 101.1 million viewers in the U.S.
Numbers from Numeris show another 7.2 million viewers on the Canadian networks that carried the 2022 game.
It is nearly impossible for this Philadelphia-Kansas City game to live up to its advanced billing.
Although it may turn out to be a great game, I can not imagine it will match the drama and intrigue of the Cincinnati-Kansas City AFC Championship game that was won by the Chiefs 23-20 on a last-second field goal.
Double-digit outcomes have decided 33 of the 56 Super Bowls.
Many of the pundits are suggesting this will be an outstanding game decided in the final minute.
For the fan looking to consume much more, here are 57 things to know about the Eagles and Chiefs.
If you are looking to make a bet join the party as it has been reported that Americans will spend $16.5 billion on Super Bowl Sunday.
As for food and fun facts, an estimated 8 million pounds of guacamole will be consumed on the big day and 14,500 tons of chips are eaten along with that guacamole.
The most popular Super Bowl party food is led by chicken wings at #1 with pizza in the #4 spot.
Super Bowl Sunday is the busiest day for pizza sales! 🍕
In 2022, an estimated 12.5 million pizzas were sold in the U.S. on Super Bowl game day, according to the American Pizza Community organization. And it’s expected to do the same this year, as well. https://t.co/1DNKPKSTiO pic.twitter.com/GAf2bBaRsE

There’s still time to dissect, analyze, scrutinize, study, evaluate, and examine every little detail about ‘THE GAME,’ but I’m sure you will agree that kickoff cannot come soon enough.
As for the pick, does one go for the team that appears to have the most talent (Philadelphia favoured by 1.5 points) or the one with the best quarterback?
Sure it is a team sport, but I will take the QB.
Kansas City will win by 4.

Phoenix Suns gave up four first-round draft picks – 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029, to get Kevin Duran from the Brooklyn Nets. Clearly makes the Suns a favorite for this season. But how many of those draft picks will come after Durant demands a trade somewhere else?
