The BC Lions made their final cuts over the weekend, and among them was a local face.
Kelly Road and UBC grad Brandon Deschamps had been hoping to make the squad after a productive training camp.
He says the last few days have been difficult to swallow:
“I’m just taking a little bit of time here, time to get away from football and get away from pretty much everything. It’s all still pretty fresh in my mind, and I have got a lot of things going on in my head and in my heart. I’m going to take some time here and actually come to Prince George and see my family”
An obviously emotional Deschamps says the Lions did not tell him much, and that the process was quick.
The 22 year old says he has not been in contact with any other CFL teams, and may potentially head back to play out his final year at UBC.
Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
