Salvation Army in PG opens new one stop shop

The Salvation Army officially cut the ribbon on its new building Friday.

The organization will now be running its Food Bank, Thrift Store, Family Services, Emergency Disaster Service and Recycling Program from its facility on 18th Avenue.

Captain Neil Wilkinson says this means they can provide service in one area.

“And I hope people can appreciate that when you are facing financial difficulty or whatever the case may be and you need to go from one location to the next, it just raises another challenge so this just removes more of those barriers that existed in the past.”New_Building_3

Wilkinson says the 17,833 square foot building is just what they needed to help the poor of Prince George.

He says it being near two bus stops also is a bonus.
