The province has three wildfires of note according to the BC Wildfire Service, and two of them are close to Hudson’s Hope.
The Prince George Fire Center has deployed nine Parattack personnel to Battleship Mountain, 35km from Hudson’s Hope, to try and protect the few structures in the area.
Another fire that sparked up today (Thursday) is at Dinosaur Lake and is estimated at three hectares large.
It is just five kilometers southwest of the Hudson’s Hope Bridge and is visible from the town.
One unit crew is currently fighting the blaze.
The third wildfire of note is at Fat Dog Creek in the Coastal Fire Centre.
