The Canfor Leisure Pool is around 96% complete.
That’s according to a report by City Director of Recreation and Events Andy Beesley that will be delivered to Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting.
“The remaining works for completion include pool tank fills, finishes, HVAC and fire system commissioning, systems corrections and run tests, NinjaCross finalization, operator training, landscaping, and staff move in,” Beesley wrote.
He said the schedule has been delayed by one month with completion expected in early October, with occupancy to follow later that month.
“The delay is largely attributed to unanticipated trade defaults and labour shortages, which are outside project controls,” Beesley wrote.
“The project is anticipated to remain within this completion schedule provided there are no extenuating circumstances such as system deficiencies identified through the commissioning process or supply chain delays.”
City Administration are also proceeding with plans to relocate the Terry Fox statue from Prince George Community Foundation Park to the pool site as per direction from City Council on October 18th, 2021.
Other items to be discussed at tomorrow’s city council meeting include a potential new seniors housing development, and the purchase of an RCMP Victim Services Vehicle.
