RDFFG to review waste management plan

The Regional District of Fraser Fort George will be taking a look at how to deal with waste in the area.

A review of the solid waste management plan is set for this year.

Waste Diversion Program Leader Rachael Ryder says this plan needs to be updated every five years.

“Well the plan itself covers many facets of the management of solid waste,” says Ryder, “so it involves recycling, composting, the disposal of garbage, inland spills and transfer stations.”

Ryder says public consultations will take place later this year.

She says it will be interesting what the public wants in terms of waste disposal, after curbside recycling has been established in the city.
