The Prince George Airport Authority presented its 2021 annual report to the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
Some of the highlights include a 14% year-over-year increase in passenger activity, and the completion of new capital initiatives such as long-term parking equipment, runway signage, and an airfield generator.
This year, Flair Airline’s announced a seasonal service to Tucson, Arizona that will launch in December.
Also, the RDFFG is into its first year of a three-year pilot program with Cleanfarms to collect and recycle targeted agricultural plastics used in dairy and livestock production. To date, there is one collection site at the McBride Regional Transfer Station.
The five Fraser-Fort George Endowment Funds recently funded 13 grants for a total of $36,760:

ï‚· $3,000 to Bednesti Berman Lake Community Association for fire trailer equipment
ï‚· $1,530 to Miworth Community Association for a welcome sign
ï‚· $3,000 to Miworth Community Association for crawl space insulation
ï‚· $2,540 to Miworth Community Association for a wall screen and stage light
ï‚· $3,000 to Hixon Volunteer Fire Department Society for exterior rated fire doors
ï‚· $3,000 to Hixon Volunteer Fire Department Society for a snowblower
 $3,000 to Hixon Volunteer Fire Department Society for fencing and landscaping at Hixon Women’s Institute site
ï‚· $3,000 to Shell-Glen Improvement Society for a playground, BBQ and trails
ï‚· $3,000 to Penny Community Historical Association for a wood shelter and fire pit cover
ï‚· $3,000 to Huble Homestead/Giscome Portage Heritage Society for fire suppression building supplies
ï‚· $2,866 to Bear Lake Recreation Society for recreational equipment
ï‚· $2,824 to Bear Lake Recreation Society for shelving and storage
The Board approved the following requests for Community and Recreation Grants:
ï‚· $30,000 to Red Rock/Stoner Fire Volunteer Fire Department Society for an equipment shelter
ï‚· $10,000 to Pineview Recreation Commission for the Sunfolics event
ï‚· $50,000 to Hixon Volunteer Fire Department Society for the firehall expansion project
ï‚· $1,107 to Penny Community Historical Association for insurance
ï‚· $1,625 to Canoe Valley Community Association for accounting costs
