The United Nations made a resolution on firearm safety, and it appears at least one MP is discouraging the government from adopting it.
As Prince George – Peace River MP Bob Zimmer addressed the House on Tuesday, concerning his Private Members Motion M-589 in which he believes Canadians already exceed all the standards listed in the UN resolution:
“The regulations envisioned in the resolution would do nothing to enhance public safety, and would serve only to burden the law abiding firearms community”
The UN is calling for the marking of all firearms with identification codes, and the country of origin. Something Zimmer believes will cost the firearm Community dearly.
Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
