Gentleman’s club proposed for downtown PG

Prince George City Council will be tasked with looking over a liquor license application for a business a little outside the norm in tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting.

What used to be the Generator along 3rd Avenue is now potentially being converted to Ignite Night Club, a gentleman’s club with exotic dancers.

The business model, submitted by Paladin Consultants, said they are aiming to provide entertainment for men and women between the ages of 25 to 60 years old.

Previous approved hours for the liquor license for the building were set from 9 AM to 1 AM, but the applicant is looking to extend that until 3 AM.

The report noted that RCMP indicated having concern for extended hours for the business.

Members of the public can also give their two cents on the topic by sending in a written submission, and a public notice will be sent out to property owners and tenants that this application might affect.

City staff have recommended that Council approve the application for the business, saying that it is not expected to have a negative impact on the community or produce any significant negative land use impacts on surrounding properties.
