Prince George RCMP said they quickly identified a man after a liquor store theft on Thursday, June 2nd.
Police received a report shortly after 4 pm from a liquor store on the 4100 block of 15th Avenue that a man tried to leave the store with a concealed bottle of liquor.
The suspect’s photo was taken from security cameras, and officers identified the known offender, noting that they were familiar with him.
Police said he was arrested less than 24 hours later.
“This is a good example of our police officers using their knowledge of repeat offenders to quickly identify and arrest a suspect,” said Cpl Jen Cooper.
The man was released on an undertaking with a future court date, and the file is still under investigation.
