The Prince George BC Summer Games is on the lookout for volunteers to help with the Games in July.
“Prince George is the volunteer city, and we know that our community will once again come together to make this event a success,” said President Renee McCloskey.
“We are so grateful for anyone who has registered to date, and for our many volunteers who have been working for over a year now.”
According to Director of Participant and Volunteer Services Tracey James, there’s approximately 750 volunteers that have signed up so far, and they need, in theory, 3,000 people.
“It’s been a little bit slow, I think with COVID, people were a little bit wary to see what things would be like,” James said.
On Saturday, June 4th, the BC Summer Games team will be at Canadian Tire in Prince George with a goal to sign up 500 volunteers between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m..
They will also have draws for gift cards for people who sign up during that time.
James said they’re looking for people to fill a wide range of positions including:
- Security
- Events
- Foods
- Hosts
Volunteers can also sign up on the BC Games website.
The BC Summer Games will take place in Prince George from July 21st-24th.
