Team Rubicon is a disaster response nonprofit that is taking some of their training to Ness Lake Bible Camp.
The group will be at Prince George City Hall tomorrow (Friday) morning at 10:30 AM for a flag raising, but Dave Horton with Ness Lake talked a bit about how this collaboration came about.
“Their priorities and our priorities are very similar, to bring hope and to bring peace to people in a variety of situations.”
Horton said it also helped that they had a bunch of open land and trees for Team Rubicon to work with, as he noted they’ve been doing things like first aid and chainsaw training.
“So from running events like Candy Cruise and the Family Day Adventure Cruise, personally, I made connections. Team Rubicon reached out and just wanted to be a part of a community impact.”
He noted that they’ve had people come from all over to attend this training.
“They’re from like Northwest Territories, to Nova Scotia, to Texas. No joke, they are from all over the place.”
Horton said they had people arriving last Friday, and said they’ll have training wrapped up around Saturday.
